Calerin Golf Club is a 9-hole course designed by Doug Carrick, located in Erin, Ontario, in the Caledon Hills near the GTA. The course features two completely separate sets of tee boxes from different angles, lengths, and elevations, playing like an 18-hole layout. The design showcases Carrick's signature spacious bentgrass fairways that narrow strategically, challenging greens with varying undulation and speed, and over 50 bunkers across nine holes.
The rolling terrain on a hillside location creates both uphill and downhill fairways, positioned on the great divide between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie watersheds. The course exemplifies risk-reward design, with strategic bunker placement requiring golfers to choose between aggressive and conservative routes. The signature sixth hole is a long par-4 dogleg right at 360 yards with an elevated green, heavily guarded by trees and sand.
Calerin offers a complete facility with a fully renovated clubhouse (2020), banquet facilities accommodating up to 250 guests, a licensed restaurant, and event spaces suitable for weddings and tournaments. The course is part of the GolfNorth Juniors Program and is regarded as one of Ontario's best nine-hole courses and a hidden gem for golfers seeking a challenging, well-maintained layout.
