Bully Pulpit Golf Course is an 18-hole championship layout carved directly from the North Dakota Badlands near Medora. The course features a distinctive design that meanders through meadows and woodlands, skirts the Little Missouri River, and incorporates dramatic elevated tees built on buttes with elevation changes exceeding 100 feet. The front nine plays atop a producing oil field with integrated wells and infrastructure designed to blend seamlessly with the landscape.

The course presents significant challenge and visual drama, with tee shots spanning between Badlands buttes and fairways navigating varied terrain. Recent renovations include a reconstructed front nine and updates to the back nine, including new cart paths and a leveled green on hole 14. Hole 16, sponsored by Starion Bank, stands as a notable signature hole.

Voted USA Today's #1 Best Golf Course in 2025, Bully Pulpit represents a rare golfing experience combining natural Badlands scenery with challenging play. The course operates seasonally from April through October, open sunrise to sunset, and includes cart and range balls with all green fees. Juniors 17 and under play free with a paying adult.
