Bryn Meadows is a 6021 yard par 71 championship course established in 1973 and nestled in the stunning Sirhowy Valley, offering breathtaking views of the Welsh countryside. The parkland golf course was crafted by acclaimed designers Brian Mayo and Craig Defoy. The course challenges players with undulating fairways, mature tree-lined holes, and a layout that rewards precision and smart course management over raw power. Its unique layout ensures that no two holes are alike, presenting a varied challenge that tests every aspect of a golfer's skill.
The two signature holes are the 2nd, a 557-yard par next to out-of-bounds, and the 13th, a 227-yard par over the water. The course is home of the British Amputees Championships and was chosen as one of the venues for the 1999 Rugby World Cup Amateur Golf Tournament. The Golf Union of Wales selected Bryn Meadows as finalists for 'Club of the Year' and 'Junior Club of the Year' in 2016, as well as being recognised as a 'Golf Union of Wales Centre of Excellence'.
The course at Bryn Meadows lends itself particularly well to mixed groups, as well as providing an interesting challenge to golfers of all abilities and handicaps. A 9-hole academy course was inaugurated in 2014 and has become the largest junior golf academy in Wales, providing a nurturing ground for aspiring golfers where beginners can absorb the fundamentals of the game under the guidance of professional coaches.
