BraeBurn Country Club, located in Houston, Texas, was originally founded in 1926 as Colonial Country Club and designed by Golden Age architect John Bredemus. Reorganized in 1931 under leadership including Jack Burke, Sr., it became BraeBurn Country Club and remains the fourth oldest club in Houston. The course has significant historical importance in professional golf, having served as home to three-time Masters Champion Jimmy Demaret from 1936-1941, during which he won nine PGA Tour events including the 1940 Masters. BraeBurn has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments including the 1950 Houston Open, 1952 LPGA Houston Weathervane, 1954 NCAA National Championship, 1988 Miracle Network Golf Tournament hosted by Greg Norman, and the 1995 Texas State Amateur. The club offers comprehensive amenities beyond golf, including tennis, pickleball, a pool, dining facilities, and fitness center, serving as a full-service country club for families.
