Black Sands Golf Club is located in Beulah, North Dakota, on the south side of Lake Sakakawea in the state's energy country. Originally opened as Beulah Municipal Golf Course in 1953, it is a public 9-hole facility that measures 6,226 yards when played twice and features a par 70 layout.

The course is named after its distinctive black coal slag bunkers, which are a defining characteristic of the design. Key features include water hazards throughout the course, notable elevation changes, and the signature coal slag bunkers that create both visual interest and challenging playing conditions. The terrain reflects the regional landscape and energy industry heritage.

Black Sands offers comprehensive golf services including a smoke-free lounge and restaurant, full-service pro shop, driving range, and putting green. Cart and electric scooter rentals are available. The course hosts regular events including a senior league on Tuesdays, men's night on Wednesdays, and ladies' night on Thursdays. The facility maintains soft spikes only policy to protect the greens.
