Historic Black Knight is a 9-hole public golf course with a par-36 layout spanning just over 3,100 yards. The nine-hole golf course was designed by noted golf architect Fred Findlay, and it was later updated by Ferdinand Garbin. Located at the southern end of Beckley between South Kanawha and South Fayette Street, the course features rolling hills and tree lined fairways with small greens that are bentgrass.

The Black Knight Municipal Park in Beckley was organized in 1928–29 when Col. Ernest Chilson offered more than 60 acres of company property for a golf course and clubhouse, with the club's name coming from the 'Black Knight' trademark of the coal company. Governor Conley attended the club's grand opening on May 31, 1929. In 1938, noted golfer Sam Snead played an exhibition match at Black Knight.

In May 2018, the city of Beckley purchased the club and reopened it, offering golf, dinner and meeting room rentals to the public and organizations. Historic Black Knight offers a welcoming atmosphere with amenities including a clubhouse, dining areas, event spaces, and a pool.
