Birkdale Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located in Huntersville, North Carolina, designed by Arnold Palmer—the only daily-fee signature Palmer design in the Charlotte area. Set on 200 acres of rolling terrain carved between tall pines and natural streams, the course measures 6,725 yards at par 71.

The layout features four sets of tees and significant elevation changes that enhance both visual appeal and playing difficulty. Bermuda fairways and Ultradwarf Bermudagrass greens characterize the course. Water hazards are strategically positioned throughout, requiring golfers to use varied shot-making skills. Notable holes include the par-3 ninth, recently renovated with creek hazards and bunker protection, and the demanding 569-yard par-5 fifth, where the approach shot must carry water over a rock-faced wall to reach a long, narrow green. Several short par-4s offer risk-reward opportunities.

The course has received recognition as one of North Carolina's "Top Five Public Courses in the State" and Charlotte's "Best New Golf Course" and "Best Public Course." Recent renovations include new greenside bunker sand and clubhouse exterior improvements, maintaining championship-level conditions for this challenging test of golf skill.
