The Beverly Country Club, established in 1908, is a championship-caliber course located on Chicago's South Side. Designed by legendary architect Donald Ross, who implemented a comprehensive renovation plan over nearly a decade, the course was elevated to major championship standards and remains among the finest in the country.
The course has hosted prestigious tournaments including four Western Open championships (1910, 1963, 1967, 1970), the 1931 U.S. Amateur, the 1943 Chicago Victory National Open Championship, and more recently the 2009 U.S. Senior Amateur and 2014 Western Amateur. The Chicago Open was held at Beverly for a three-year run beginning in 1999, with PGA Tour player Luke Donald winning in 2000.
Beverly's strength as a championship test is evidenced by its notable champions, including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Francis Ouimet, and Chick Evans. The course has maintained its reputation as a rigorous and respected test of golf throughout its history, combining Ross's classic design principles with the club's century-long tradition of excellence.
