Located in the Beldih area of Jamshedpur, the Beldih Golf Course is a private 18-hole facility founded in 1922. Situated within the oldest part of the Presidio Forest, the course is designed in a parkland style, characterized by a layout that winds through dense Neem, Gulmohar, Kachnar, and Semul trees. The terrain is heavily wooded, with fairways lined by thick tree cover that defines the visual and strategic character of the round. The course layout consists of two par-3s, five par-4s, and two par-5s, offering a total yardage that ranges from approximately 150 yards to nearly 600 yards depending on the tee played. The design accommodates a wide spectrum of golfers, from juniors to professionals, with specific yardages provided for Ladies, Men, and Seniors tees. The longest hole is the par-5 7th, which measures 591 yards from the men’s tee, while the shortest holes are the par-3s, including the 1st and 10th, which measure 164 yards from the men’s tees. Key characteristics of the course include challenging holes that demand precision through the forested corridors. The 7th hole serves as the signature stretch, presenting a significant test of length and strategy. The 1st hole is noted for its table-top green and bunkers guarding both sides, adding technical difficulty to the opening hole. The 11th hole is the second-longest at 426 yards from the men’s tees, requiring a long approach or drive to navigate the wooded fairway. Historically, the club was restricted to army personnel, but it is now open to civilians. It hosts the annual PGTI event, the TATA OPEN, establishing its role in professional golf in the region. The facility includes a clubhouse, a full-service restaurant, a practice facility, and a driving range, supporting both competitive play and casual rounds.
