Beaver Creek Country Club is an 18-hole, par 72 facility located in Hagerstown, Maryland, situated beneath Black Rock and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Established in 1959, the traditional layout winds through tall oaks and stands of white pine, offering a subtly challenging round for golfers of all skill levels. The course features multiple tee boxes to accommodate varying yardages, ranging from the red and black tees up to the blue tees, with total lengths extending to 6,489 yards. The terrain is defined by significant elevation changes and sloping greens that demand precise shot placement. The 11th hole, a par 5, sits at the course's highest elevation and provides views of the Western Maryland mountains and valley, though the fairway slopes severely to the left, requiring a high second shot to the right. The 16th and 17th holes present long carry shots over valleys to elevated greens, with the 17th adding water and swamp hazards on the right side. The 12th and 15th holes feature greens with substantial slope, often resulting in side-hill and downhill putts. Beaver Creek has a notable history as the host of the Washington County Open (WACO) for 35 years. The course is known for its strategic design where big hitters may not gain an advantage, such as on the dog-leg left 7th hole, which is considered one of the most difficult on the layout. The 18th hole finishes near the clubhouse, providing a convenient view for spectators. The facility operates as a semi-private club, also offering a 19th hole pub and grill open to the public.
