Bargara Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located in Bargara, Australia, built on land originally acquired in 1924 when the site was swampy with large frontal dunes. Established by local residents with a shared vision, the club developed gradually over decades. The course was first extended to 18 holes by 1954 after initial challenges maintaining the layout. A significant lagoon was created on the western side in 1966, which the club retains ownership of today. The course underwent major improvements in 1980 when Bermuda 328 grass replaced older couch greens, and the present layout was established in 1988. A new clubhouse was constructed in 1997 to enhance facilities. The course is situated in a coastal setting with distinctive dune features characteristic of the Bargara region. The club has evolved from a basic community facility into a modern golf destination, with ongoing ambitious projects to develop five-star facilities for both the local community and visitors.
