Ballan Golf Club is a picturesque country course located on the banks of the Werribee River, situated 78 kilometers west of Melbourne and easily accessible from the Western Highway. The course features a shady, tree-lined layout that is predominantly flat with a couple of short steep hills, river crossings, and Santa Ana couch greens. Founded in 1924, Ballan Golf Course has recently been extended to a Par 69 with holes renumbered to reflect the changes. The course was previously a Par 62 layout. With a course record of 58, achieved only once, Ballan offers a moderate challenge suitable for various skill levels. The scenic riverside setting and natural tree-lined design create an appealing environment for golfers seeking both challenge and natural beauty. The club hosts numerous championship events throughout the year, including the Fairbairn Cup, Papworth Cup, Club Championships, and McIlvena Cup, alongside regular monthly medals and house team competitions.
