Ashiya Country Club is a 18-hole, par 72 golf course located in Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, situated on the slopes of Mount Rokko within the Seto Inland Sea National Park. The course was originally designed by Yoten Yuda and opened in August 1952, with subsequent renovations by Giichi Sato in 1959 and Motoichi Ohashi in 2011. The layout utilizes the mountainous terrain to create a distinct strategic divide: the outward leg demands precise line-drawing shots, while the inward leg requires decisive point-focused decision-making. The course measures 6,451 yards from the blue tees with a slope rating of 140, though it offers multiple tee boxes ranging from 4,885 yards on the red tees to 5,872 yards on the white tees. The front nine totals 3,284 yards from the blue tees, featuring a mix of par-4s, two par-3s, and two par-5s. The back nine measures 3,167 yards from the same tees, including three par-3s and three par-5s. The course rating from the blue tees is 72.0, reflecting the challenging nature of the layout despite its relatively short yardage. Key strategic holes include the 4th hole, a par-5 measuring 546 yards from the blue tees, and the 16th, another par-5 at 471 yards. The par-3 holes provide significant testing ground, with the 13th measuring 202 yards from the blue tees and the 5th at 170 yards. Water hazards are integrated into the design, with ponds visible on the 15th and 2nd holes, and creeks added to the 16th and 9th holes in recent years. The course also features a 230-yard driving range with 23 bays and a dedicated golf academy facility for member use.
