Asahikawa Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course with a par of 70, featuring 6,016 yards from the back tees and 5,723 yards from the regular tees. The course was established in September 1956 and opened in August 1957, with course supervision by Ryugasaki Country Club under head professional Eisozo Ikawa.
The layout comprises two nines with distinct characteristics. The outward nine (holes 1-9) totals 3,026 yards with a par of 35, while the inward nine (holes 10-18) measures 2,990 yards, also par 35. The course is situated in Asahikawa with a challenging, undulating terrain featuring elevation changes, strategically placed hazards including water features, bunkers, and out-of-bounds areas.
Notable design elements include elevated greens, doglegs, and significant elevation transitions requiring careful club selection. Hole 10 is described as the most difficult green in Hokkaido. Several holes demand precise shot placement due to water crossings, tree placement, and sloped terrain. The course presents considerable challenges for all skill levels, with particular emphasis on accurate approach shots and green reading due to complex slope work and strategic hazard placement throughout the layout.
