Arequipa Golf Club, founded in 1918, is Peru's first golf club. Located at Alto de la Luna at 2,250 meters above sea level, it occupies over 60 hectares total with 50 hectares dedicated to the course, making it one of Peru's longest golf courses. The all-grass course is affiliated with the Peruvian Golf Federation and features natural salt-grass conditions suited to the local geography and high altitude setting.
The club was established by British railway administrators of The Peruvian Corporation and later relocated to its current location in 1950 after government expropriation of its original site. The course is characterized by majestic views and challenging conditions specific to its mountainous terrain and salt-grass composition. Beyond golf, the facility offers additional sports amenities including tennis and fronton courts, providing comprehensive recreational services across its substantial property with comfortable facilities for members and guests.
