Apple Mountain Golf Course is a par-72 championship layout designed by John Sanford that opened in 1998 and has been recognized as one of Michigan's premier courses. Located in Freeland, Michigan, the course features four sets of tee boxes accommodating golfers of all skill levels, with generous fairways, true greens, and spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

The 18-hole design presents a balanced challenge with varied terrain and strategic hazards. Notable characteristics include water hazards on multiple holes, strategically positioned bunkers, and elevated tees on the mountaintop, particularly on holes 5 and 6, which offer distinctive playing conditions. The course features two par-3s, four par-5s, and twelve par-4s. Signature holes include hole 2, a demanding par-5 with water lining the entire right side and penal bunkers; hole 16, a challenging long par-3; and hole 18, a finishing par-5 that tests golfers from tee to green with water guarding the front of the green. The layout emphasizes precision and strategic club selection, with subtle breaks on greens and hidden hazards requiring careful navigation.
