Akasaka Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course located in Bizen, Okayama Prefecture, situated on gentle hills in the Chugoku region. Designed by architect Hachihachi Fukui and opened in November 1974, the layout is characterized by a distinct strategic split between its front and back nines. The front nine offers a relatively flat and dynamic experience with wide fairways, while the back nine introduces more complexity through valley and water hazards, requiring players to carefully assess the terrain and formulate a strategy. The course features two sets of greens, allowing for variations in yardage and difficulty. The standard "Green A" configuration measures 6,760 yards from the back tees, while the "Green B" layout extends to 6,545 yards. A course rating of 71.0 is assigned to the standard setup. The front nine is described as a straightforward test, whereas the back nine demands precision, with the course design emphasizing that short game skills are crucial for scoring well. Key challenges are distributed across the layout, with the 14th hole serving as the par-5 signature test at 550 yards from the back tees. The 18th hole also presents a significant par-5 challenge, measuring 588 yards. The 12th hole is a demanding par-3 measuring 192 yards, while the 6th hole offers a shorter par-3 at 147 yards. The course allows for both caddie-assisted and self-guided play, with riding carts available for use.
