Kuwana International Golf Club is a 36-hole facility located in Higashiura, Ise District, Mie Prefecture, operated by the Shin-Nihon Kanko Group. The course is divided into two distinct 18-hole layouts: the Ise Course and the Suzuka Course. The Ise Course is characterized by its expansive length, exceeding 7,000 yards from the back tees, offering a layout that favors long hitters. In contrast, the Suzuka Course presents a more technical challenge where strategic placement is required to navigate bunkers and water hazards that complicate the approach lines. The Ise Course is set against the backdrop of the Suzuka mountain range and the Tado-Yoro mountain system. Its back nine features significant elevation changes, including a long par-5 17th hole that stretches 619 yards from the back tees. The front nine includes a 568-yard par-5 2nd hole and a 545-yard par-5 8th hole, providing substantial distance challenges. The course design incorporates various green complexes, including a two-tiered green on the 17th hole, requiring precise approach shots. The Suzuka Course offers a different strategic test, with yardages ranging from 6,343 yards from the back tees. This layout features numerous out-of-bounds areas, particularly on the 1st hole where the right side is OB, and the 11th hole which is flanked by OB on both sides. The 1st hole is a 554-yard par-5 that demands accuracy off the tee to avoid the OB line. The course also includes a 495-yard par-5 15th hole and a 514-yard par-5 18th hole on the back nine, testing the golfer's ability to manage distance and direction. Both courses utilize bentgrass greens, with the main greens on the Ise Course specified as bentgrass. The terrain varies between the two layouts, with the Suzuka Course noted for its uphill sections that require club selection adjustments. The Ise Course is described as having a majestic feel suitable for powerful drives, while the Suzuka Course demands careful navigation of its hazards and sloping fairways. The facility hosts regular club competitions and open events throughout the year, including monthly Monday open comps and Sunday half-comps.
