The Murrayfield Golf Club Gents Open Greensomes Strokeplay is held at Murrayfield Golf Club, Edinburgh, played off the White Tees. The format is greensomes strokeplay (both partners tee off, the best drive is selected, and partners then alternate shots for the remainder of the hole). The competition is open to male golfers from any affiliated club. Prizes are awarded for both scratch and handicap categories, with multiple placings in each. Where a team wins in both categories, they receive the higher-value prize only, with other teams moving up accordingly. Prize money is credited to the Pro Shop account for Murrayfield members; visitors receive SGU (Scottish Golf Union) vouchers. Nearest the Pin prizes (two bottles of red wine and two bottles of white wine per team) are also awarded on designated holes and can be collected from the club office during normal working hours. A twos pool is also run.
