The Gents Open Strokeplay (Singles) is a men's individual strokeplay competition held at Murrayfield Golf Club, Edinburgh (White tees), on Sunday 9 August 2026. Entry fee is £30.00 per visitor (£25.00 for Murrayfield members), payable by debit or credit card on the club website only. Entries are allocated tee times on a first come, first served basis. Signup closes at 11:59 pm on 5 August 2026. Withdrawals within two weeks of the competition date will not be refunded. Competitors must provide their CDH number (WHS affiliation required) on entry and should advise of any update to their Handicap Index on the day. Handicap allowance is 95% with an individual maximum allowance of 28. Scoring is in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A. An optional 2's sweep is available on the day at the pro shop. Prize money for non-Murrayfield members will be awarded as SGU Vouchers posted to the competitor's home club; Murrayfield members receive pro-shop credit. No competitor will receive more than one prize; the highest prize amount will be awarded. Dress code: appropriate golf attire on the course (no jeans or trainers); smart casual in the clubhouse (smart jeans permitted).


Prizes

Non-Murrayfield member winners receive SGU Vouchers posted to their home club. Murrayfield member winners receive pro-shop credit. No competitor will receive more than one prize; the highest prize amount is awarded.
