End Date: Friday, 11 September 2026

Format: Individual

Scoring: Strokeplay

Category: Open

Scarborough Golf Week runs from Sunday 6 September to Friday 11 September 2026, played across four North Yorkshire coast courses: Filey GC, Scarborough North Cliff GC, Scarborough South Cliff GC, and Whitby GC. Competition start times are 7:30am to 2:30pm each day. No green fees are charged. The men's circuit competition consists of strokeplay over 72 holes (4 qualifying days within the week), with separate trophies for best gross score (The Mayor's Golf Trophy) and best net score (The Scarborough Challenge Cup). The 72-hole circuit is also split into 4 separate daily competitions, each qualifying for prizes, so competitors do not need to play all 4 days. A Ladies Stroke Competition also runs during the week. Booking priority is given to participants entering for more days, with those playing all 4 circuit days given priority over those entering fewer days. Tee times can be requested via the online form at scarboroughgolfweek.co.uk, or by phone or email through Scarborough South Cliff Golf Club. The prize presentation takes place at North Cliff GC. Founded in 1921, the event has been attracting golfers to the area for over 100 years.

Scarborough South Cliff Golf Club

North Yorkshire, England

Scarborough South Cliff Golf Club, founded in 1903, is an 18-hole championship course designed by the renowned Dr Alister MacKenzie, who also designed Cypress Point, Augusta National, and Royal Melbourne. Located on the Yorkshire coast at Deepdale Avenue, the course offers spectacular open views across South Cliff to the sea, with particularly notable coastal holes. The fifth hole is highlighted as a signature feature, providing breathtaking vistas over Scarborough South Bay and down the east coast. The course is considered one of the finest in the North of England, with well-maintained fairways and true greens presented in excellent condition. The terrain incorporates the natural landscape of the coastal setting, creating a fair but challenging test of golf. South Cliff regularly hosts significant tournaments, including regional, county, and national events, and served as joint host of the English Amateur Championship in 2016. The club combines its excellent course design with comprehensive facilities, making it a notable destination on the Yorkshire golf circuit.
