Merlot-Cup

The Merlot-Cup 2026 is a two-person (2er) scramble strokeplay competition over 18 holes, played on Saturday 31 October 2026 at the Kurhessischer Golfclub Oberaula-Bad Hersfeld (Golfcourse Oberaula 18 Loch Meisterschafts-Platz, Peter-Bickhardt-Allee 1, Oberaula). Shotgun start at 10:00. Open to all amateur golfers aged 18 and over who hold a membership in a golf club (DGV-affiliated clubs, including foreign clubs with a confirmed handicap index). Tees: men yellow, ladies red. Entry fee is 10 EUR for guests plus the applicable green fee (members pay 25 EUR). Entries close on Friday 30 October at 12:00; start times are available from Friday 30 October 15:00 via the club secretariat or SMS service. Prizes are awarded for 1st and 2nd gross team and 1st to 3rd net team. A fun twist: at four stations on the course each player may drink up to 3 glasses (0.1l) of wine, and the total number of glasses consumed by the team is deducted from the team's total score (maximum 24 glasses = 24 strokes). Players are asked to arrange their own carpooling after the event. The tournament is run under the Official Rules of Golf (including the Amateur Status) of the DGV and the club's course rules, using the World Handicap System.
