The course is a heath and parkland layout that originally opened in 1920 and was later remodelled by renowned golf course architect Dr Alister MacKenzie, designer of Augusta National. Key features include the 1st hole, which requires accuracy through a historic avenue of lime trees, and the challenging 18th, featuring a demanding drive with the green nestled against the clubhouse backdrop. The 18-hole course tests golfers' skills across varied terrain while maintaining the natural beauty of its setting. The club is easily accessible via Junction 12 of the M42, positioned on the approach to the historic market town of Ashby de la Zouch.
