The 124th North & South Women's Amateur Championship is held at Pinehurst Resort, North Carolina. Open to female amateur golfers with a handicap index of 5.0 or less. All applicants must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status and meet the requirements of the USGA Gender Policy. The 120-player field competes over two rounds of stroke play on Pinehurst No. 2 and Pinehurst No. 4 (June 30–July 1), after which the top 32 players advance to a match play bracket contested entirely on Pinehurst No. 2 (July 2–4). Medalist honours are also awarded. Players may qualify as Championship Exempt (invited based on exemption criteria) or Championship Non-Exempt (application-based). All applications must be received by the Tournament Office by 12:00 PM Eastern Time on May 11, 2026; the final field is confirmed by May 14, 2026. Entry fee is $395. Contestant registration takes place in person on June 28 at the Two View Ballroom, Pinehurst Country Club. A contestant dinner (players only) is held on the evening of June 29 at Carolina Hall, Carolina Hotel, and is included in the entry fee. A reception and dinner for Round of 16 match play contestants is held on the evening of July 2 at Golf Pride Headquarters. Caddies are permitted; push carts are available for rent at $10 per day. Private housing with local host families may be available upon request by June 1. Withdrawals before May 11 receive a full refund; withdrawals between May 11 and June 21 receive a refund minus a $30 processing fee; withdrawals after June 21 receive no refund except in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the Championship Committee.

Course No. 8 offers six tee selections—Gold, Blue, Gunclub, White, Centennial, Green, Oakley, and Red—allowing golfers to select appropriate challenge levels. The layout balances strategic difficulty with aesthetic appeal, maintaining the character that has made Pinehurst a legendary golf destination while providing a more intimate, sanctuary-set experience compared to the resort's historic courses.
