Men's open competition held every Wednesday from January to October at Castlewarden Golf Club. Entry fee is €35 per person for visitors; €25 per person when entering as a guest of a member. A WHS (World Handicap System) handicap is required to enter. Booking is available online. Players must report to the Pro Shop before beginning their round; if the Pro Shop is closed, players must check in at the Club Office. Soft spikes only are permitted on the course.

Castlewarden Golf and Country Club

Castlewarden Golf and Country Club is an 18-hole course with a design history spanning three decades of refinement. Originally designed by Tommy Halpin in 1990, the course was re-designed by Bobby Browne in 1993, which introduced two new holes (the current 2nd and 3rd) and initiated the transition to sand-based greens. In 1995, renowned course architect Tom Craddock made significant design recommendations that shaped the modern layout. The course features sand-based greens developed from these professional redesigns, offering a well-established playing surface. Located in the Castlewarden area, the club is situated around a historic clubhouse dating back to 1640, which has been modernized with extensions and renovations to provide contemporary facilities including a bar, restaurant, pro-shop, and members' amenities. The course presents a balanced challenge suitable for various skill levels, with the multiple design iterations ensuring playability while maintaining strategic interest. The evolution from indigenous turf to sand-based greens represents a commitment to course maintenance standards and consistent playing conditions throughout the year.
