It hosted the English Seniors Men's Open Amateur Championship in 2019 and regularly holds county events. The club is particularly noted for hosting significant tournaments, including the England Golf Boys' County Finals in 2025. Open Championship winner Tony Jacklin CBE is an Honorary member of the club. The course is described as challenging, with notable design features including strategic bunkering and demanding tee shots that require careful club selection.
