The Yorkshire Challenge 2026 is a three-day men's pairs better ball stableford event played across three historic Yorkshire Ryder Cup venues: Moortown (1929), Ganton (1949), and Lindrick (1957), from 9th to 11th September 2026. Each player receives a branded welcome pack. The competition format is Men's Pairs Better Ball Stableford with WHS 85% handicap allowance and a maximum shot allowance of 18. The best aggregate points scored over the three rounds determines the Supreme Champions. Daily prizes are awarded to the top 6 teams at each course, with a minimum of two nearest-the-pins prizes per course per day. Overall series prizes include trophies and vouchers (£200 per player for 1st, £150 for 2nd, £100 for 3rd), redeemable at Yorkshire Challenge professional shops. There is also an Individual Challenge at each course with daily prizes for the top 6 places. Competitors must be aged 18 or over on Day 1, be a member of an affiliated golf club with a fully developed WHS handicap record, and play from the Yellow Tees. Players with higher handicaps may enter but will be restricted to the 18-shot maximum. Tee times run from 8:00am to 2:00pm each day; Day 1 tee times are selected on entry, Day 2 tee times are allocated once the event is full (playing partners may be altered), and Day 3 tee times are allocated in reserve score order (leaders last). Tie-break procedures for Supreme Champions and Individual Series Challenges follow a card play-off sequence: best final round score, best last nine holes, best last six holes, best last three holes, best last hole, then sudden-death from hole one of the final round. If still tied, the procedure applies to Round 1. No practice shots or mulligans are permitted on main prize holes. The event is supported by Titleist and FootJoy. Founded in 1909, Moortown Golf Club was designed by renowned architect Dr Alister MacKenzie, who also created Augusta National and Cypress Point. Moortown holds a prominent position among England's finest championship courses and is particularly notable for hosting the first Ryder Cup match on British soil in 1929. Recognized as a Top 100 Golf Course, Moortown combines MacKenzie's masterful design with its distinctive Yorkshire setting. The course's landscape of mixed woodland and open moorland creates varied playing conditions, while its championship status reflects both its technical difficulty and enduring design quality.
