Boat of Garten Golf and Tennis Club

Boat of Garten, Highland, Scotland

Boat of Garten Golf Club is an 18-hole par 70 course designed by the legendary James Braid, located in the Scottish Highlands near the Cairngorm Mountains. The course features a distinctive blend of heathland and moorland terrain with firm, links-like fairways that showcase the natural landscape. Set alongside a heritage steam railway and overlooking the River Spey, the course offers scenic views and opportunities to spot wildlife including ospreys and golden eagles. Each hole is individually designed to integrate with the surrounding natural environment, with the 12th hole particularly noted for its setting amid birch woods with mountain vistas. The course presents a challenging but rewarding experience for golfers of varying abilities. Strategically positioned in the Highlands, Boat of Garten serves as an ideal stop for golfers exploring Scotland's renowned courses, situated within 45 minutes of Castle Stuart and Nairn, and approximately 2 hours from Royal Dornoch, Brora, and Gleneagles. The course combines accessibility with an authentic Highland golfing experience in a dramatic mountain setting.
