Joyo Country Club

茨城県, Japan

Joyo Country Club is a woodland course in Japan designed by renowned architect Kazusuke Izumi. The layout features fairways across all holes with undulations reminiscent of small waves, evoking the Seto Inland Sea, while bunkers are arranged to suggest sandy beaches. The course is characterized by strategic design elements set within a forested setting. The terrain is notably flat with minimal elevation changes, making it suitable for walking play and particularly appealing to golfers concerned with joint health, as the lack of significant grade changes reduces strain on the knees. The course uses bentgrass greens and features seasonal flowers throughout the layout. The club hosts regular monthly competitions organized by class level (A, B, and C), a signature event called the Joyo Classic, and periodic open tournaments, indicating an active competitive schedule. The course emphasizes enjoying the natural surroundings and seasonal beauty during rounds.
