Veterans Memorial Medical Center Golf Course

Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines

Veterans Memorial Medical Center Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 70 facility located in Quezon City, Philippines. Built in 1958, the course is situated within the Veterans Memorial Medical Center grounds and serves as a public golf option in an area with limited alternatives. The layout is characterized by a relatively short length and straight fairways, offering a laid-back round of golf that contrasts with the more expansive resort courses in the region. The terrain is defined by narrow fairways that become increasingly restrictive as the round progresses, flanked by numerous Molave trees that often force players to lay up to ensure they can get the ball back into play. The course features small greens and a variety of hazards, including water hazards that protect most of the par 5 greens, adding a layer of difficulty for players attempting to reach those holes in two shots. The design includes several dog-leg holes, contributing to the strategic nature of the layout despite its straightforward overall shape. The 7th hole is highlighted as a signature hole on the course. It is a reachable par 4 measuring just under 250 yards, designed to provide a distinct challenge within the short course framework. The combination of narrow landing areas, tree-lined fairways, and protected greens makes the course a challenging test for local players, particularly those navigating the tight corridors and avoiding the numerous hazards scattered throughout the 18 holes.
