Sickleholme Golf Club

Hope Valley, Derbyshire, England

Sickleholme Golf Club is located in the heart of the Peak District near Bamford in the Hope Valley. Though not exceptionally long by modern standards, the course presents a formidable challenge to golfers of all abilities. The layout features well-positioned bunkers, undulating greens with immaculate conditioning, and tight tree-lined corridors that demand precision off the tee. The scenic setting forms a distinctive backdrop, with the beautiful Peak District landscape enhancing the golfing experience. The course's design creates strategic interest through its combination of bunkering and green complexes rather than length alone. The undulating terrain and tree-lined fairways require careful course management and shot selection. Sickleholme has hosted significant competitions, including the SUMA competition under the Sheffield Union Golf Club, which speaks to the quality of both the course setup and facilities. The club maintains high standards of presentation through its dedicated greens staff and offers comprehensive facilities including professional coaching, an indoor golf studio, and catering services for visitors and societies.
