Cottingham Parks Golf and Leisure Club

East Riding of Yorkshire, England

Cottingham Parks Golf and Leisure Club is located at Woodhill Way in Cottingham, East Yorkshire, a short distance from Hull. The facility operates two 18-hole courses across around 200 acres of parkland: the main Cottingham Parks course, which opened in 1994, and the Skidby Lakes course, which opened in 1999. No prominent designer is credited for either layout in available records. The Cottingham Parks course plays to a par of 72 over approximately 6,453 yards from the white tees, with a course rating of 71.3 and a slope of 131 for men. The Skidby Lakes course offers a shorter and less demanding test at par 68 over around 6,182 yards. The Cottingham Parks course is a parkland layout that makes use of the natural East Yorkshire countryside, with added water features and mounding incorporated into the design to create strategic interest throughout the round. The terrain is generally easy to walk and the layout is considered accessible to golfers of a wide range of abilities, though the stroke index one 5th hole at 594 yards and the demanding 437-yard 11th provide a genuine test for longer hitters. The par four 12th, measuring 346 yards, is identified as the signature hole, with water protecting the green and demanding accurate approach play. The club positions itself as a broader leisure destination rather than a purely competitive golf venue, with facilities including a gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, driving range, and on-site lodge accommodation.
