The Wakamiya Point Cup is an individual competition held at Wakamiya Golf Club, part of Trial Golf & Resort. The event uses a Single (old) Paria format where men play from the white tees (green tees available for players aged 70 and over) and women play from the red tees. The entry fee is 11,500 JPY for visitors (7,980 JPY for members), which includes meals and is tax-inclusive. Prize awards include over 200 points of Wakamiya Points distributed across positions: 1st place receives 30 points, 2nd place 15 points, 3rd-10th place 10 points each, 15 shots or more away 5 points, and best ball 5 points. All participants receive a prize of popular local eggs (10-pack). Since 2017, this competition has offered the opportunity to earn free play through Wakamiya Points (an additional 500 JPY participation fee is required, plus separate charges for taxes, meals, and locker fees; other discounts and benefits cannot be combined).

The course is designed to be accessible to a wide range of players, from beginners to advanced golfers, by strategically placing water hazards within the relatively level terrain. This design choice tests a player's strategic decision-making, particularly on dogleg holes where the layout demands careful club selection and shot placement. The course features a par 72 configuration with multiple tee boxes to accommodate different skill levels. The standard white tees offer a total yardage of 3,084 yards for the front nine and 2,948 yards for the back nine, while the blue tees extend the challenge to 3,332 and 3,129 yards respectively. The front nine includes a mix of par 4s, two par 5s, and two par 3s, with the 7th hole serving as the handicap 1 at 393 yards from the white tees. The back nine balances the round with another two par 5s and two par 3s, highlighted by the 10th hole, a 431-yard par 5 from the white tees that serves as the course's longest hole. Significant water hazards are integrated throughout the layout, with the 11th hole presenting a 117-yard par 3 over water from the standard tees. The 18th hole, a 332-yard par 4 from the white tees, concludes the round with a demanding approach. The course utilizes Bentgrass greens, which are maintained to provide consistent playing conditions for the various competitions and events hosted at the facility. Wakamiya Golf Club hosts a variety of regular competitions, including the "Saga Beef Cup" and the "Wakamiya Point Bonus Cup," which attract local and regional players. The course is part of the Trial Golf & Resort Group and is situated near the Miyawaka Interchange on the Kyushu Expressway, making it accessible for both local golfers and visitors traveling from Fukuoka or Kitakyushu.
