The Sir Michael Bonallack Open Senior Singles is a Men's senior (age 55+) single-day medal competition held at Clitheroe Golf Club from the White tees on Wednesday 7th July 2027. It is open to members and visitors who are active members of a recognised golf club. Valid CDH (Concurrent Handicap Index) numbers are required at the time of booking. To be eligible to win a prize, players must be an amateur member and have at least 6 competition scores on their WHS (World Handicap System) record in the preceding 12 months. Handicap allowance is 95% of the player's handicap. The entry fee is £45.00. Nett and gross prizes are awarded, with additional nett prizes for age categories: 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+. Entries open on 1st September 2026. Refunds are only given 7 days prior to the competition.

Clitheroe Golf Club is a classic parkland course established in 1891 and designed by legendary architect James Braid. Located in the picturesque Ribble Valley on the edge of the historic market town of Clitheroe, Lancashire, the course offers magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. The course is recognized as one of the North West's finest layouts and formerly served as a Regional Open Championship qualifying venue. It presents a true test of golf for all ability levels, featuring a good variety of holes. The signature 5th hole, a par 3, is noted as one of Lancashire's best short holes. Clitheroe welcomes visitors and societies throughout the week and hosts corporate golf days and popular open competitions between April and October. The club features a newly refurbished clubhouse with the Legends Bar, meeting venues in the Southworth and James Braid rooms, and a modern Performance Golf Academy. The academy includes a covered 10-bay driving range, teaching facilities, and short game practice areas, reflecting the club's status as a leading golf facility in the North of England.
