20th University of Maryland Amateur

The 20th University of Maryland Amateur is a 36-hole individual strokeplay competition held at the University of Maryland Golf Course in College Park, MD. The event runs Saturday, October 17 through Sunday, October 18, 2026, with tee times starting at 7:30 AM both days. Open to any amateur golfer holding a current USGA Handicap from a PGA recognized facility. The field is limited to the first 120 players, with entries closing at 5:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2026. Late entries will be placed on a waiting list with priority given to the Championship flight. Four tee flights are available: Championship (7,000 yards), Gold (6,500 yards), White (6,100 yards), and Red (5,600 yards, for players aged 60+). Players whose age plus handicap index equals 95 or greater may play from approximately 5,300 yards. All flights except Championship will have gross and net divisions, with each division requiring at least six entries to be held. The entry fee for visitors (All Others) is $250, which includes two rounds of green fees, range balls, prizes, and cart fees. Members pay $125, UMD students who are not members pay $175, and military personnel pay $225. An optional cash skins game is available each day for $30, covering both days. The defending champion is John Symanski (144).
