The Hakuho Open Competition is an open golf event at Hakuho Country Club, open to all golfers including visitors and non-members (anyone can join, from a single player). Entrants may choose between caddie-assisted (20,500 yen) or self-play (16,100 yen) formats. Scoring is by the Perrya (bogey) system with no handicap limit; ties are broken first by older age, then by lower handicap. The competition uses a half-round tally (first 9 holes), with scores entered into the cart GPS. Prizes (seasonal gourmet items) are provided for all finishers, with no participation prize; the October theme is the 'Autumn Flavors Cup'. The fee includes a light breakfast (7:00-9:30), lunch with one soft drink, an after-round dessert, and prize money. A participation fee of 3,500 yen (4,000 yen on 24 December) is included in the total price. Special prizes are given on certain dates (e.g., Narita-grown Koshihikari rice on 29 September, a size-4 Christmas cake on 24 December). After the round there is a free informal dispersal. Professional golfers are asked not to enter. Entry is made online via the club's booking platform.
