Oakbank Golf Course

South Australia, Australia

Oakbank Golf Club, founded in 1892, is South Australia's second oldest golf course and a founding member of the South Australian Golf Association. Located in the Onkaparinga Valley near Oakbank township, approximately 30 minutes from Adelaide, the course is situated on Smith Street. The club's history is distinctive-it occupied the Oakbank Racing Club's racecourse for its first 100 years before relocating to its current site. During that period, golfers navigated unique hazards including race track railings and sand tracks rather than traditional bunkers. The current course is designed for recreational golfers and features a layout that is easily traversed with only two sand bunkers. The course is fully irrigated and offers an accessible playing experience. The clubhouse and facilities accommodate both green fee players and group bookings when not required for club events. The club maintains a reputation for being friendly and hospitable, welcoming visiting players alongside its membership base.
