Scotscraig Golf Club

Tayport, Fife, Scotland

Scotscraig Golf Club, founded in 1817 by members of The Society of St Andrews Golfers (which became The Royal & Ancient Golf Club), is a historic links course located 15 minutes along the Fife coast from St Andrews. Designed by Old Tom Morris and later refined by James Braid, the course blends traditional links and heathland character, offering a classic test of golf. The layout combines both landscape types, creating distinctive playing conditions characteristic of Scotland's golf heritage. The club has hosted significant competitions, serving as a six-time Open Qualifying venue and hosting the Scottish PGA Championship in 2023 and 2025. Despite its prestigious history and competitive pedigree that has challenged Scotland's best golfers, Scotscraig remains accessible to everyday golfers. The course is noted for excellent greens and friendly conditions. Located in Tayport, Fife, on Scotland's Golf Coast, the venue attracts visitors seeking to experience Scotland's golfing heritage while enjoying a well-maintained, challenging layout that respects the traditional links golf experience.
