Join us this fall for a two-person four-ball (betterball) tournament at Finley Golf Course. Teams of two will be flighted by handicap, ensuring competitive play at all levels. Best ball of the two counts on every hole. Tee times begin at 8:30 AM. The event is limited to 100 players (50 teams). Entry fee is $375 per team for non-members ($275 for Finley Golf Club members). The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, lunch from Merritt's at Finley following play, and flighted prizes. All competitors must have an active GHIN number. On-course competitions include two closest-to-the-pin contests and a longest drive contest, with prizes awarded to each winner. Registration is available online.

UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is the home of the North Carolina Tar Heels Men's and Women's golf teams. It was originally built by Raleigh businessman A. E. Finley in 1949 to a design by George Cobb. In 1999, designer Tom Fazio remodeled the course into a par 72 layout with five sets of tees ranging from 4,981 to 7,220 yards in length. Most recently, Carolina Golf Legend, Davis Love III renovated the course in 2023, transforming it into a par 70 layout. Towering pines envelop generous playing corridors on this predominantly flat site. Though you must beware of the trees, Fazio's trademark large, deep, and highly aesthetic bunkers further define the fairways and guard the greens. Fazio moved plenty of earth around at UNC Finley to create movement in the terrain and to elevate the tees and greens. The highlight of UNC Finley Golf Course is its back nine, especially the four spectacular finishing holes which are beautiful and challenging. The course notably hosts the annual Ruth's Chris Tarheel Invitational and has been a host site for NCAA and USGA Regional tournaments. UNC Finley Golf Course has excellent practice facilities that include a large driving range, complete short game area, and two large putting greens. The clubhouse is home to a pro shop and a casual grill restaurant.
