The 68th Perak Amateur Open returns to Meru Valley Golf Resort, Ipoh, Perak, from 2 to 5 September 2026. This four-day strokeplay competition features three rounds of golf with an overall gross championship for both Men's and Ladies' categories. The Overall Gross Champions in both categories earn automatic entry into the 2026 Malaysian Amateur Open. The event includes a green fee for a practice round, three days of breakfast and lunch, and three days of buggy fees. Goodies and prizes are awarded, with Hole In One prizes sponsored by Leonian (Callaway Quantum Max Driver) and Handara Golf & Resort Bali (2 rounds of golf and 2 nights at Buyan Villa). A cut-off applies after 36 holes. Men must hold a USGA Handicap of 18 or below (Index 15.8 and below); Ladies must hold a USGA Handicap of 24 or below (Index 20.9 and below). Guest entry fee is RM550 nett; International Player fee is USD200 nett; Member entry fee is RM450 nett.

Meru Valley Golf Course is a 27-hole championship course located in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, and is recognized as the only five-star golf course in the state. The course is divided into three distinctive nine-hole tracks: the Valley, Waterfall, and River, each offering different design characteristics and levels of challenge. The layout accommodates golfers of all skill levels, with three signature holes integrated throughout the routing. The course features comprehensive practice facilities including a two-tier driving range with covered bays, along with dedicated chipping, pitching, bunker practice areas, and putting greens. Set within the Meru Valley Resort grounds, the course benefits from the natural landscape of the region around Bukit Meru. The terrain and setting incorporate water features, as evidenced by the Waterfall and River course names, contributing to the visual appeal and strategic difficulty of play. The course is designed to present an appropriate level of challenge across its three nine-hole sections, allowing flexibility for nine or eighteen-hole rounds.
