Nine & Dine Invitational is a team of four scramble competition held at Newlands Golf Course on Friday 28th August 2026. The event is played over the Newlands Front 9 from White tees (Men) and Red tees (Ladies) in a Stableford format with a 10% handicap allowance for individuals. Teams consist of four players in an 'Any Combination' of men and ladies, with a minimum of one member required per team. The scramble variant uses a Las Vegas dice system: all four players tee off each hole, a dice is rolled, and if the result is 1-4 the corresponding player's drive is used; if 5 or 6, the team chooses. After the second shot, the hole is played out as a normal scramble. Handicap allowance for the team is combined 25%/20%/15%/10% of the highest to lowest handicaps within the team. Entry fee is €22 per member (required on entry) with optional additional fees bringing the total to €44 or €66 per member, inclusive of a meal. The event is open to both men and ladies (visitors/guests welcome alongside members).

Newlands Golf Course

County Dublin, Ireland

Newlands Golf Club is a mature parkland course founded in 1910, located in Clondalkin, Dublin, approximately 13 kilometres from Dublin City Centre. Designed by Jeff Howes, the course is strategically positioned near the M50 and Naas Road, with views visible from Newlands Cross flyover. The course presents a balanced challenge for golfers of all levels. It features sufficient bailout areas for higher handicap players, while the mature trees, varied greens, and strategic hole placement provide considerable difficulty for lower handicap golfers. The design encourages players to utilize their full range of clubs and rewards shot-making precision regarding shape and distance control. Newlands maintains active membership across men's, ladies, and junior sections and regularly hosts weekly and weekend competitions. The club extends beyond golf, offering additional amenities including a bar, restaurant, pro shop, and non-golfing activities such as bridge, snooker, indoor bowling, and music sessions. The facility welcomes visitors and operates as a vibrant, competitive community club.
