The Eric Thomas Mixed Open is a mixed pairs greensomes stableford competition played over 18 holes at Newquay Golf Club on Sunday 1st November 2026. Men play from the Blue tees and ladies from the Red tees. The format is mixed greensomes with a handicap allowance of 60% of the low handicap and 40% of the high handicap. Maximum playing handicaps are 28 for men and 36 for women. To be eligible to enter or win, players must have a valid WHS handicap (iGolf not accepted), be of amateur status, and have recorded 3 qualifying individual competition scores in the previous 12 months. General play and 4BBB scores do not count as qualifying. Entry is open to men and ladies from affiliated golf clubs. The entry fee is £7.00 per person for members and £15.00 per person for visitors, payable at time of online entry. Entries close at 11:59 pm on 18th October 2026. Late entries may be permitted at the discretion of the Competition Committee. Players must register and pick up their card from the Professionals Shop. Scores must be entered via the P.S.I. screen at the bar or M.S.I. mobile facility, and the scorecard must be placed in the competition box. Ties are decided on the back 9, then holes 6, 3, and 1. The winner receives the Eric Thomas Cup and Hutchinson Cups are awarded. Prizes are subject to field size.
