Marsden Golf Club is a 9-hole course (playable as 18 holes) located near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, situated at the edge of the Peak District National Park. Founded in 1920, the course was designed by renowned Scottish architect Alister MacKenzie, who also created Augusta National, Cypress Point, and Royal Melbourne. The course measures 5,702 yards over 18 holes and occupies a magnificent Pennine moorland setting with spectacular views across Wessenden Valley. Despite its relatively modest length, Marsden provides an intriguing and challenging test of golf skills. The course features natural hazards and maintains an open character that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding moorland landscape. Located approximately 45 minutes from both Manchester and Leeds city centres, the club has maintained its original hole layout with only minor changes since its establishment. The terrain and setting remain largely unchanged from its early heritage, contributing to its distinctive character. Known for its friendly atmosphere, Marsden welcomes both new members and visitors to experience its compelling golfing challenge within a heritage moorland environment.
