La Sella Golf

Jesús Pobre, Comunitat Valenciana, Spain

La Sella Golf is a 27-hole resort course situated in the La Sella valley near Jesús Pobre, between Dénia and Jávea on Spain's Costa Blanca, adjoining the Montgó Natural Park. The first nine holes were inaugurated in 1986, with the facility growing to its current 27-hole configuration across three loops — Llebeig, Gregal, and Mestral — all designed by two-time Masters champion José María Olazábal. The resort is co-located with the five-star Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa. The three nine-hole loops each have their own character, with tree-lined fairways, water hazards, and rolling terrain throughout, while generous greens and mountain backdrops feature consistently. The Llebeig and Gregal nines wind through substantial pine groves and are characterised by their scenic beauty and views over the Montgó Natural Park, while the Mestral nine is set at a higher elevation and offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean, the Segaria mountain, and the Montgó massif, with wider fairways and more spacious greens. The course is notable for its walkability and year-round playability, benefiting from the mild coastal climate of the Marina Alta region. Any combination of the three nines can be played as an 18-hole round, with the Gregal/Mestral combination the most commonly used championship configuration, measuring 6,175 yards to a par of 72. The course has no significant professional tournament history but is consistently regarded as the leading golf facility on the Costa Blanca.
