Shinano Golf Club is an 18-hole course located in Shinano Town, Kamiina District, Nagano Prefecture, set within a landscape that utilizes the natural topography of the region. The layout is divided into two distinct nine-hole loops: the out course, which winds through a forested area with tall trees, and the in course, which is characterized by strategic hilly terrain. The facility is situated in an environment described as offering views of the Northern Shinano Five Peaks, integrating the existing natural conditions into the design. The course presents a total par of 72, with a yardage of 7,029 meters from the championship tees. The front nine measures 3,456 meters, while the back nine extends to 3,573 meters. The layout offers varying lengths depending on the tee box, with regular men's tees positioned at 6,373 meters. The par distribution includes four par-5 holes, eight par-4 holes, and six par-3 holes across the 18 holes. The out course is designed as a wooded fairway layout where players can view the surrounding mountain ranges. It is characterized as a course where scores can be relatively easily managed through consistent stroke play. In contrast, the in course is a strategic hilly layout that changes character at each hole, requiring mental agility and technical skill to navigate the fairways and avoid penalties. Specific local rules apply to the course, including designated forward tees for fourth shots on the 2nd, 4th, 12th, and 17th holes if the initial drive goes out of bounds. The 16th hole also features a specific rule for balls entering the penalty area. The course is managed by a club that hosts various amateur tournaments, including the 28th Nagano Prefecture North Shinan Amateur Golf Tournament. The resident professional is Tetsuya Nakajima.
