Forest Hills Golf Club

Forest Hills Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course located in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. The layout spans 6,432 yards and is characterised by naturally undulating parkland terrain that weaves into the surrounding landscape. The course offers panoramic views of the old market town of Coleford and the hills of Herefordshire, providing a scenic setting for play throughout the year. The course was originally designed in 1990 by Adrian Stiff as a par-68 layout that incorporated the natural land features. In 1998, the course was expanded to its current championship length and par with the addition of five new holes designed by Brian Griffiths. The resulting layout features strategically placed bunkers and well-protected greens, demanding accuracy from golfers of all skill levels. Forest Hills is noted for its exceptional drainage, which allows the course to be played year-round in excellent condition. The fairways are described as well-drained and capable of holding up well in winter conditions, while the greens are maintained to a high standard. This reliability has established the course as a venue for regional events, including the Forest Classic, which draws players from Monmouthshire, Herefordshire, Bristol, Cardiff, and Worcestershire. The club also hosts numerous county events and Gloucestershire County team matches.
