Located in Kizu-gun, Kyoto Prefecture, Mikano-hara Country Club is a 36-hole facility set on flat, hilly terrain overlooking the Kizu River. The course is divided into two distinct 18-hole loops, the Kamo and the Mikasa, each played as an outward and inward nine. The Kamo loop is characterized by a generally flat layout interspersed with pine forests and strategically placed ponds that provide variation. In contrast, the Mikasa loop offers a longer, more expansive layout with a grander scale. The Kamo Out nine features a mix of par fives and fours, including a 484-yard 1st hole and a demanding 480-yard 4th hole. The Kamo In nine presents a different challenge, highlighted by the par-5 15th hole at 561 yards and the 575-yard 18th hole, which requires precise calculation and accuracy. The Mikasa Out nine includes a long 592-yard 7th hole and a 484-yard opener, while the Mikasa In nine is shorter in distance but demands precision, featuring a 493-yard 14th hole and a 383-yard 16th hole. All 36 holes are played with caddies, and the course does not allow self-play on the combined Kamo and Mikasa loops, ensuring a smooth pace of play. The facility is known for its accessibility, being a short drive from major transit hubs like JR Nara Station, and is a popular venue for club competitions and events. The course layout is designed to offer views of the Kishu-kyo area, providing a scenic backdrop for play. The course has a total par of 72, with each 18-hole loop also being par 36. The yardage from the regular tees totals 6,269 yards for the Kamo loop and 6,498 yards for the Mikasa loop. The facility is equipped with a restaurant that offers party menus and is a member of the Kansai region's largest golf course network in terms of capacity.
