Fujimi Kogen Golf Course

諏訪郡, Japan

Located in Fujimi-machi, Suwa District, Nagano Prefecture, at an elevation of 1,300 meters at the foot of the Northern Alps, Fujimi Kogen Golf Course is a highland resort course designed by Hiroshi Umezawa. The facility opened in September 1974 and features an 18-hole, par 72 layout spanning 7,012 yards from the back tees. The course is characterized by a lack of significant elevation changes, with gentle undulations leading to the greens. It utilizes a dual-green system, featuring L93 Bentgrass greens that are kept short to provide a traditional bentgrass roll, set against wide fairways of Overseas Bentgrass. The front nine presents a mix of dogleg and straight holes, including the par-5 first hole which plays as a right dogleg. The sixth hole is noted as a signature par-5 where the wide fairway allows for an open approach, though players must watch for rocks on the right side. The back nine introduces more strategic elements, such as the par-4 twelfth hole which slopes to the right, and the par-3 seventeenth hole featuring a two-tiered green. The course includes several holes recommended for long hitters, including the fifth, eighth, fifteenth, and eighteenth. Strategic play is aided by GPS-equipped carts that display current position and pin locations, with an automatic driving system allowing players to summon the cart via remote control. The course maintains a JGA Course Rating of 70.1 for regular tees, with a Slope Rating of 118 for the back tees. The facility hosts regular club championships and senior and ladies' club competitions, such as the 2026 Senior and Ladies Club Championships held in June.
