Golf 5 Country Mizunami Course

岐阜県, Japan

The Golf 5 Country Mizunami Course is a 72-par, 18-hole championship layout located in Mizunami, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Situated in a hilly terrain, the course spans 6,840 yards from the back tees and was designed by the renowned architects Pete and Perry Dye. The design philosophy centers on the integration of nature, utilizing the natural undulations of the landscape to create wide fairways with subtle, strategic contours. The layout features Bentgrass greens, with the majority of the putting surfaces characterized by two-tiered designs that require careful course management. The course is known for its strategic depth and individual hole character. A notable feature is the fifth hole, which presents a floating island fairway; this signature hole offers a challenge where players who successfully land their tee shot on the island are rewarded with a pro shop voucher. The course includes specific yardages for regular, front, and ladies' tees, with the back tees rated at 73.1 for men and 80.1 for women. The design incorporates natural hazards and visual elements intended to test the golfer's strategic thinking throughout the round. Golf 5 Country Mizunami has established a history as a venue for professional competition, serving as the host course for the Golf 5 Ladies Professional Tournament. The facility has hosted numerous notable matches and continues to be a key location for women's professional golf events in Japan. The course is equipped with five-person motorized carts and offers rental clubs and shoes, catering to both competitive play and recreational rounds.
