The 'Meat Festival' (O-niku Matsuri / Nikutsuri) is a recurring half-round competition held at Tanagura Country Club on the 29th of June, July, August, October and November. The 29 October 2026 edition falls on a Thursday. It is a half competition (front nine holes only) played under the New Peria stableford system with a W Par Cut applied, and a maximum handicap of 18. Entry fee is 1,100 JPY (tax included); the day's play fee, lunch and taxes are included in the total cost. Prizes are awarded for 1st through 5th place, 7th place, and 10th place, plus best drive (BB), best modified (BM) and special prizes, all handed out at settlement. 30 practice balls are provided before the start, and alcoholic beverages at lunch are half price from the second drink. The event is listed on the club's open competition page and is open to visiting non-member golfers; entries are taken via the club's online booking system (ValueGolf) or by phone.

The facility has a history of hosting significant tournaments, including the Japan-US University Golf Championship, which utilizes the course as a championship venue.
